What's New
New features introduced in PTC Orbit version 4.0.
The following are the new features introduced in the current release of PTC Orbit.
AI Hub: 3D Creo Viewer and Bill of Materials
PTC Orbit now integrates a 3D Creo Viewer directly into AI Hub, enabling users to visually explore product structures and Bills of Material (BoMs) within the AI Canvas. Users can load 3D models of products linked to their assets by simply providing a product name, part number, or asset serial number in the chat.
Key Capabilities:
Structure and Spatial Navigation: A structure panel displays the full product hierarchy, letting users expand, collapse, search, and filter parts. A spatial search tab enables geometric proximity searches across parts.
Interactive Part Exploration: Users can right-click parts to access context menus, locate parts in the structure tree, and view which other assets use a selected part. Visual indicators help users identify the correct product or asset to load.
Flexible Workspace: The chat window can be collapsed to maximize the 3D viewing area, and users can persist search states when switching between the Structure and Spatial Parts tabs.
Guided Onboarding: A built-in interactive guide or brochure helps first-time users learn Creo Viewer functionalities such as neighboring parts discovery and part selection.

Demand Forecasting
PTC Orbit introduces Demand Forecasting, a powerful new capability that helps service organizations predict future work order volumes and service hours. Users can create demand forecasts using either a guided manual builder or an AI-assisted LLM builder that translates natural language prompts into forecast criteria.
Key Capabilities:
AI-Assisted Forecast Builder: Users can describe their forecast needs in plain language, for example, forecasting work orders for a specific asset type or region, and the AI automatically generates the appropriate criteria, period, and historical data range.
Manual Forecast Builder: For users who prefer full control, a step-by-step wizard allows manual configuration of asset criteria, forecast period, and historical data parameters.
Forecast Review and Confirmation: Before execution, users can review and confirm all forecast parameters to ensure accuracy.
Results and Export: Completed forecasts display forecasted work orders and hours through bar charts and data tables, with export options for PDF, CSV, and Excel formats.
For more information, see Demand Forecasting.
