Upgrading ThingWorx Navigate
Before you upgrade ThingWorx Navigate, check that you meet the prerequisites. For more information, see Prerequisites.
ThingWorx Navigate 1.6.3 upgrade paths are aligned with the in-place upgrade paths supported by ThingWorx 8.1. For more details on the upgrade paths supported by ThingWorx, see the document “Upgrading ThingWorx 8.1” on the Reference Documents page for ThingWorx.
Before you begin the upgrade process, you need to identify the supported upgrade path and upgrade type. Refer to the sections below for details.
Identify the supported upgrade paths
When upgrading your ThingWorx Navigate server, we recommend upgrading to the latest available release. PTC only supports upgrade to the latest available release when upgrading a major or minor version of your ThingWorx Navigate server.
Refer to the ThingWorx Navigate Upgrade Support Matrix to identify the supported path for your upgrade.
Identify the upgrade type
After identifying the supported upgrade path and downloading files for the upgrade, you need to identify the upgrade type—in-place or maintenance release upgrade. Refer to the below table to verify the type of upgrade.
