Document properties - general properties (Publisher)
The document properties are set on the Document Properties dialog. You can open this dialog in the following ways:
On the File menu, click Properties.
Click the Properties toolbar button.
In the Document Structure, right-click the Document, and then click Properties.
To specify document properties, in the left pane select the appropriate category (General, Custom Style Parameters, Formatting Parameters, Company, Author or Legal Notice), and then in the right pane define the properties.
General properties
The General properties you set will appear on the first page of a generated Word document (except for the Comments property) or on the initial page of a Publisher HTML output. If you do not want to include a property in the generated output, leave that property blank.
The General properties are as follows.
General group:
Title box - specifies a title for the output.
Sub Title box - specifies a sub title of the generated output. This sub title appears below the Title in the generated Word document or Publisher HTML output.
Version box - specifies the version number of the generated output. The version number is generated within parentheses after the Number value.
Important: If the Version value you specify does not match the specified Format, on closing the Document Properties dialog, Publisher will change the value of the Version you specified to match the format (see the Format entry that follows).
Format list - specifies how the Version value is generated in the output. The following Formats are available: Default, M, Mm, Mr, MR, Mmr, MmR, R and r:
Where:
M is the first number of the Version value.
m is the second number of the Version value
R is the third number of the Version value - prefixed by 'Revision:' when generated.
r is the third number of the Version value.
For the available Formats, the Version value should be specified as follows:
M - specify an integer value, such as 13.
Mm - specify two integer values, such as 13.2.
Mr - not implemented at present.
MR - not implemented at present.
Mmr - specify three integer values, such as 13.2.1
MmR - specify three integer values, such as 3.2. Revision: 1
R - not implemented at present.
r - not implemented at present.
Important: If the Version value you specify does not match the specified Format, on closing the Document Properties dialog, Publisher will change the value of the Version you specified to match the format.
Number box - specifies a number that is generated before the Version number.
Copyright group:
Year box - specifies the year or year range for the Copyright.
Holder box - specifies the holder of the Copyright.
Publish Date group:
Date list - specifies the publish date that is used in the generated output.
Format box - specifies the format that is used when generating the date. Note that the letters you use to specify the date format are case sensitive:
For the day, use dd for two digit integer value; use ddd for the first three letters of the day; and use dddd for the full name of the day.
For the month, use MM for two digit integer value; use MMM for the first three letters of the month; and use MMMM for the full name of the month.
For the year, use yy for the last two digits of year; use yyyy for the four digit year.
For example, onWednesday 14 January 2009:
MM dd yy results in the date being generated as follows: 01 14 09
ddd dd MMM yyyy results in the date being generated as follows: Wed 14 Jan 2009
dddd dd MMMM yyyy results in the date being generated as follows: Wednesday 14 January 2009
Comments group:
Comments box - specifies any comments you want to record in relation to the Document Definition. These comments are not generated to any output.
