Arranging tag definitions by default for new items on a diagram
1. Right-click the diagram background, and then click View Options.
2. For every symbol type in the left pane, you can change the Show Stereotype Vertical property in the Options tab to True or False. Setting it to True displays the tag vertically.
3. Click OK.

The diagram View Options affect only new items that are added to the diagram.
