Input pin (system) (UPDM - DoDAF aliases)
An Input Pin (System) is a proprietary element that represents a
Parameter (System).
Creation
To create an Input Pin (System):
• From an
SV-4 Systems Functionality Description: click the 
Input Pin button, and then click the edge of the owning
Activity Action (System) or
Operation Action (System). From the context menu, point to New Pin, and then click the required command:
Input Pin button, and then click the edge of the owning
Activity Action (System) or
Operation Action (System). From the context menu, point to New Pin, and then click the required command:◦ Click New Parameter to create a new Parameter (System) and a new Input Pin (System) to represent that Parameter (System).
◦ Click the command for a Parameter (System) to create a new Input Pin (System) for that Parameter (System).
The name of an Input Pin (System) is set to that of the Parameter (System) it represents.
On creation of an Activity Action (System) or Operation Action (System), Modeler creates an Input Pin (System) to represent each Parameter (System) (Mechanism of In or InOut) of the Operation (System) that is used as the type of the Activity Action (System) or Operation Action (System). In addition, for an Operation Action (System), Modeler creates an Input Pin (System) named Target Pin.
Note that after creating an Activity Action (System) or Operation Action (System), Input Pin (System) elements are not automatically created for new Parameter (System) elements that are created on the associated Operation (System).

• On the Items tab of an Input Pin (System) element's property pages, you can view and navigate to the Parameter (System) that is represented by the Input Pin (System) through the Linked Item association.
