Check in command (CM tool integration)
This command stores a Modeler Package (or Model) in the CM tool Model. This command appears on the context menu when you right-click a Model or Package, and then select > .
You use this command in the following circumstances:
• When a Package or Model is not under configuration control and you want to check in the Package or Model for the first time. You are prompted to create a project, or select a project that does not already contain a Model.
• When a Package or Model has been checked out to you and you want to check in the Package or Model. The Package or Model you check in is stored as a new version in the CM tool Model.
A check in operation copies the Package or Model and its content to the CM tool Model. After checking in a Package or Model, an incoming (left pointing) arrow appears on its icon.
When you perform a check in operation, you have the option to include sub-Packages, in which case Modeler attempts to check in its descendent Packages. In addition, you have the option to keep the Package or Model checked out, which is the same as checking in a Package or Model, and then immediately checking it out.
To check in a Package or Model, you require:
• In the CM tool:
◦ If the Package or Model is being checked in the first time, you must have rights to create new files in the CM tool project.
◦ If the Package or Model is checked out, the Package or Model must be checked out to you, and you must have write access to it.
• In Modeler, Owner access permissions to the Package or Model.
|
• If you attempt to check in a diagram or sub-Package that is locked, Modeler abandons the check in operation and displays a message informing you who has the diagram or item locked. Typically a diagram will be locked because a user has the diagram open. Ask the user to close the diagram, and then repeat the check in operation.
• To use this command you require a Modeler license and a CM Integration license. In addition, this command is not available when the CM tool integration is disabled - you can enable and disable the CM tool integration through the Enable Configuration Management Integration check box for the General entry on the Tool Options dialog.
