Project partition (UPDM - MODAF aliases)
A Project Partition is a proprietary element that is required to model UPDM in Modeler.
Creation
To create a Project Partition:
• From a Project Activity: right-click the Project Activity, point to New, point to MODAF, point to Activity Group, and then click Project Partition. From the Select Type dialog, create or select the system resource or Actual Project that is represented by the Project Partition.
• From an AcV-2 Project Activity Model:
◦ Click the Project Partition toolbar button, and then click in free space. From the Select Type dialog, create or select the Actual Project that is represented by the Project Partition.
Appearance
When shown on an AcV-2 Project Activity Model, a Project Partition appears as follows:
Through the View Options you can show the Project Partition vertically or horizontally.
Relationships
The following relationships are of importance to a Project Partition:
• On an AcV-2 Project Activity Model, Project Partition elements can be used to create and delete Activity Part Of Project relationships between Actual Project elements and Project Activity elements:
◦ When you create the Project Activity Action within a Project Partition, Modeler creates an Activity Part Of Project relationship between the Actual Project that is represented by the Project Partition and the Project Activity that is the type of the Project Activity Action.
◦ Dragging a Project Activity Action to a Project Partition creates an Activity Part Of Project relationship between the Actual Project that is represented by the Project Partition and the Project Activity that is the type of the Project Activity Action.
◦ Dragging a Project Activity Action from a Project Partition deletes the Activity Part Of Project relationship that exists between the Actual Project that is represented by the Project Partition and the Project Activity that is the type of the Project Activity Action.
