Activity partition (project) (UPDM - DoDAF aliases)
An Activity Partition (Project) is a proprietary element that is required to model UPDM in Modeler.
Creation
To create an Activity Partition (Project):
• From an Activity (Project): right-click the Activity (Project), point to New, point to DoDAF, point to Activity Group, and then click Activity Partition (Project). From the Select Type dialog, create or select the system resource or Project that is represented by the Activity Partition (Project).
• From a PV-2 Project Activity Model:
◦ Click the Activity Partition (Project) toolbar button, and then click in free space.
◦ From the Select Type dialog, create or select the Project that is represented by the Activity Partition (Project).
Appearance
When shown on a PV-2 Project Activity Model, an Activity Partition (Project) appears as follows:
Through the View Options you can show the Activity Partition (Project) vertically or horizontally.
Relationships
The following relationships are of importance to an Activity Partition (Project):
• On a PV-2 Project Activity Model, Activity Partition (Project) elements can be used to create and delete Activity Part Of Project relationships between Project elements and Activity (Project) elements:
◦ When you create the Activity Action (Project) within an Activity Partition (Project), Modeler creates an Activity Part Of Project relationship between the Project that is represented by the Activity Partition (Project) and the Activity (Project) that is the type of the Activity Action (Project).
◦ Dragging an Activity Action (Project) to an Activity Partition (Project) creates an Activity Part Of Project relationship between the Project that is represented by the Activity Partition (Project) and the Activity (Project) that is the type of the Activity Action (Project).
◦ Dragging an Activity Action (Project) from an Activity Partition (Project) deletes the Activity Part Of Project relationship that exists between the Project that is represented by the Activity Partition (Project) and the Activity (Project) that is the type of the Activity Action (Project).
