Applying a problem or rationale to an item (SysML)
You can apply a Problem or Rationale to an item in a number of ways.
To apply a problem or rationale to an item through a Modeler pane:
1. Right-click the item, point to Links, point to Applied, and then click Comment.
2. In the left pane, select the appropriate folder, Package or item to display the required Problems or Rationales.
Note that if it takes too long to list the Problems and Rationales, press the Escape key to abandon the operation. The Problems and Rationales that had been loaded before pressing the Escape key are listed.
3. In the middle or right pane, select the check boxes associated with the Problems and Rationales you want to link.
4. In the middle or right pane, clear the check boxes associated with the Problems and Rationales you want to unlink.
5. Click OK.
Alternatively,
Drag the item to the Problem or Rationale you want to apply.
To apply a problem or rationale to an item through the property pages:
1. Open the item's Property Pages.
2. Click the Items tab.
3. In the Show Associated list, select Comments (Applied).
4. Click the Link button.
5. In the left pane, select the appropriate folder, Package or item to display the required Problems or Rationales.
Note that if it takes too long to list the Problems and Rationales, press the Escape key to abandon the operation. The Problems and Rationales that had been loaded before pressing the Escape key are listed.
6. In the middle or right pane, select the check boxes associated with the Problems and Rationales you want to link.
7. In the middle or right pane, clear the check boxes associated with the Problems and Rationales you want to unlink.
8. Click OK.
To apply a problem or rationale to an item through a diagram:
1. On the diagram, ensure that the Problem or Requirement, and the item appear on the diagram.
2. On the diagram's toolbar, click the Link Note button.
3. Click the item, and then click the Problem or Rationale.
