Specifying valid model item types for a stereotype on a profile diagram

Customization > Extensibility Through Profiles, Stereotypes, Tag Definitions and Scripts > Extensibility through stereotype scripts and script items > Working with profile diagrams > Specifying valid model item types for a stereotype on a profile diagram

1. Add to the Profile Diagram, the Stereotype for which you want to specify valid model item types (see Adding Stereotypes to a Profile Diagram for instructions).

2. Add to the Profile Diagram, the meta model types (model item types) that you want to be valid for the Stereotype (see Adding Meta Model Types to a Profile Diagram for instructions).

3. For each meta model type you want to be valid for the Stereotype:

a. On the Profile Diagram toolbar, click the

Extension button.

b. Click the Stereotype, and then click the Meta Model Type.

You can determine which Stereotypes extend a Meta Model Type through the Usage report: right-click the Meta Model Type, point to Report, and then click Usage. The Stereotypes that extend the Meta Model Type are listed in the Results pane.
