For automation interface purposes, the Packages Order property is not an attribute of the Model or a Package; however, you can use the ReorderItem function to change the order of a Model's Packages or a Package's Packages. The Packages Order property determines the order in which its Packages are stored, and therefore the order they are returned through the automation interface.

This property specifies the order in which a Model's Packages or a Package's Packages are ordered. The Packages Order determines in which order a Model's Packages or a Package's Packages are listed on the Items tab of the Package's Property Pages.

For browsable Packages, the Packages Order determines the order in which the panes created for browsable Packages appear.

By default, a new Package appears last in the Packages Order.

This property can be set on the Items tab of the Property Pages for the owning Model or Package. To change the Packages Order, select a Package in the list, and then click the required order button to change the Package's position. There are four order buttons:

You can also set the Packages Item Order for a Package's Packages through the Packages and Relationships panes: Right-click the Package you want to move, and then click Move Up (Alt+Shift+Up) or Move Down (Alt+Shift+Up). You can only order a Package's Packages in this way when the Show Package Items Sorted command on the View menu is not checked.
