Overview of the Real-Time profile package
The profile for schedulability, performance, and time is partitioned into a number of sub-profiles, profile packages dedicated to specific aspects and model analysis techniques. At the core of the profile is the set of sub-profiles that represent the general resource modeling framework. These provide a common base for all the analysis sub-profiles in this specification.
The supplied Real-Time Profile package reflects this structure, through its sub-packages:
CRProfile (RTconcurrencyModeling)
GRMProfile (RtresourceModeling)
PAProfile
RSAProfile
RTProfile (RTtimeModeling)
SAProfile
Each sub-package contains a set of stereotypes and tag definitions as defined in the UML Profile for Schedulability, Performance, and Time Specification (version 1.1, January 2005). All of the stereotypes have been linked with appropriate model item types and tag definitions, which can be viewed through the properties of each stereotype. Each Tag Definition has had its data type specified and published; this can also be viewed through the Tag Definition properties.
Descriptions of the profile packages and their contained stereotypes are included in the Description properties of these items. Further information can be obtained from the UML Profile for Schedulability, Performance, and Time Specification downloadable from the OMG website. It is likely that you will need to refer to this specification to fully understand the concepts represented by some of the stereotypes and tags defined within this profile.

Do not make changes to the Real-Time profile. Any changes you make will be lost when the profile is updated.
Note that you can create Tag Definitions outside of the Real-Time profile, and link those Tag Definitions to Stereotypes in the Real-Time profile. When the Real-Time profile is updated, the links will not be broken.
Do not create copies of the Real-Time profile within a model, or create copies of the Real-Time profile through XMI Import/Export. The copies of the Real-Time profile will not work correctly and you will not be able to update the copies through the Update All Profiles command.
