Overview of the MBRE profile (MBRE profile)
The MBRE profile supports Model-based Requirements Engineering (MBRE) through the MBRE Traceability Diagram, MBRE Traceability Matrix and MBRE Traceability Table, all of which are PTC proprietary products.
MBRE Traceability Diagram
Through an MBRE Traceability Diagram, you can model how Activities, Actors, Blocks and Classes fulfill and validate Use Cases. Fulfill and Validate relationships are PTC proprietary relationships that model how items fulfill and validate Use Cases. Note that any model item can fulfill or validate a Use Case.
In addition, on an MBRE Traceability Diagram you can create Constrain relationships between Use Cases, although typically you would cerate Constrain relationships on a Use Case Diagram. A Constrain relationship is a PTC proprietary relationship that models how a Use Case is constrained by another Use Case.
MBRE Traceability Matrix
An MBRE Traceability Matrix presents MBRE traceability information in a matrix format, that is, how Use Cases are linked to other items through Constrain, Fulfill or Validate relationships.
MBRE Traceability Tables
An MBRE Traceability Table presents MBRE traceability information in a table format, that is, how Use Cases are linked to other items through Constrain, Fulfill or Validate relationships.
