Component Sharing Configuration Manager - main tab (Component Sharing Wizard)
This topic is for the Main tab of the Component Sharing Configuration Manager.
The following controls appear on this tab:
• Action list - specifies what action is performed by the component sharing operation. The following options are available:
◦ Export to Directory
◦ Export to Model
◦ Export to CM
◦ Import From CM
◦ Import From Model
◦ Import From Directory
The option you select affects what options appear on the other tabs.
• Generate a Log File check box - specifies that a log file named XMIimport.log is generated to the Windows Temp folder. By default, the location of the Windows temp folder is as follows:
C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Local Settings\Temp
• Skip Stub Analysis check box - specifies that stub analysis is not performed. When stub analysis is performed:
◦ The log file records any stubs that are created by the component sharing operation.
◦ When exporting to CM or a directory, the CSW file records the stubs that will be created by importing the file.
• Continue if Packages Cannot be Unprotected check box:
◦ When selected, specifies that an import will continue if the Component Sharing Wizard cannot unprotect all the Packages in the model.
If diagrams and items in the protected Packages use or are related to items that should be deleted in the imported Packages, those items will not be deleted and instead will be converted to stubs.
◦ When cleared, specifies that an import will abort if the Component Sharing Wizard cannot unprotect all the Packages in the model.
You should use this option only if the diagrams and items in the Packages you are importing are not related to the diagrams and items in Packages for which you do not have access permissions do unprotect.
In addition to the controls on the tab, the following commands and buttons are available:
• File > New command - opens a dialog for you to create a configuration file.
• File > Open command - opens a dialog for you to select a configuration file to open.
• File > Save command - saves any changes you have made to the configuration file.
• File > Exit command - closes the dialog without performing a component sharing operation. If there are unsaved changes, you are prompted to save those changes.
• Help button - opens this Help topic.
• Run button - starts the component sharing operation using the settings set on the dialog.
