Adding existing artifact dependencies to a diagram
You can add existing Artifact Dependencies to a diagram in the following ways:
Through the Populate > Artifact Dependencies command from an artifact.
Through the Populate > Artifact Dependencies command from a Variation Point or Variant (Variant Diagram only).
Through the Populate > Variability Dependencies command from the diagram background.
Through the Artifact Dependency toolbar button.
To populate an artifact's artifact dependencies:
Right-click the artifact, point to Populate, and then click Artifact Dependencies.
Modeler populates missing Artifact Dependencies for the artifact, adding to the diagram any Variation Points or Variants that are required to show those missing Artifact Dependencies.
To populate a variation point's or variant's artifact dependencies (Variant Diagrams only):
Right-click the Variation Point or Variant, point to Populate, and then click Artifact Dependencies.
Modeler populates missing Artifact Dependencies for the Variation Point or Variant you right clicked, adding to the Variant Diagram any artifacts that are required to show those missing Artifact Dependencies.
To populate artifact dependencies that link items shown on the diagram:
Right-click the background of the diagram, point to Populate, and then click Variability Dependencies
Modeler populates Artifact Dependencies (and Excludes, Requires and Variability Dependencies as well) that are missing between items shown on the diagram.
To add an existing artifact dependency to a diagram through the artifact dependency toolbar button:
1. Ensure that the Variation Point or Variant and the artifact that are linked by the Artifact Dependency you want to add are shown on the diagram.
2. On the Variant Diagram or Variability toolbar, click the Artifact Dependency button.
3. Click the Variation Point or Variant.
4. Click the artifact.
Modeler adds the Artifact Dependency that is missing between the two items on the diagram. If no Artifact Dependency exists between the two items, Modeler creates an Artifact Dependency.
