Node item (IDL code)
Create a Node in the following ways:
On an Internal Domain Diagram: on the diagram's toolbar, click the Node button, and then click within a Domain.
From a Domain: right-click the Domain, point to New, and then click Node.
All Nodes use the DanceNode node type from IDL Profile as a type.
After creating a Node you can specify its host name:
On an Internal Domain Diagram: open the property pages for the Node's hostName attribute, and set the value of the Default property to the host name.
From a Domain in the Parts pane (not the Packages pane): expand the Node and open the property pages for the hostName attribute, and set the value of the Default property to the host name.
To specify the port number of a Node:
On an Internal Domain Diagram: open the property pages for the Node's portNumber attribute, and set the value of the Default property to the port number.
From a Domain in the Parts pane (not the Packages pane): expand the Node and open the property pages for the portNumber attribute, and set the value of the Default property to the port number.
You deploy Processes to Nodes through the Deployment Plan Editor. How?
You can create a Deployment Plan Report that shows the Nodes and Processes to which each Component Part is deployed.
When shown on an Internal Domain Diagram, a Node's notation is as follows:
Note that on an Internal Domain Diagram, a Node's view options are set through the Part entry.
A Node is based on a UML Attribute or Role.
The following sections provide information about how a Node is used in the model.
