What was new in Model Explorer 9.0
Model Explorer 9.0 includes the following changes and enhancements:
You can now perform the following administration functions:
Create and delete a database.
Backup and restore a database.
Add, remove, and manage database principals.
Add, remove, and manage server Logins.
Clear locks for databases, models, and users.
Synchronize cached SQL Server user and group access permissions with Active Directory changes.
Access permission changes:
When a user creates a model, they are no longer assigned Model Owner access permissions by default if the owning database has no defined access permissions.
