On an Activity Diagram, when you create an item in or move an item to a Structured Activity Node, that item is scoped to the Structured Activity Node. If an item is scoped to a Structured Activity Node and you move that item to the diagram background or to another Structured Activity Node, the item is rescope accordingly. In addition, you can scope and unscoped items to and from a Structured Activity Node through the Packages pane.

Dependency- The Dependency is owned jointly by the Structured Activity Node and the other associated item. The access permissions you have to a Dependency are determined by the access permissions of the dependent item.
Exception Handler- The Exception Handler is owned jointly by the Structured Activity Node and the associated item. The access permissions you have to an Exception Handler are determined by the access permissions you have to its source item.
IO Flow- The IO Flow is owned jointly by the Structured Activity Node, the IO Flow's other linked item and the IO Flow's IO Item.
Stereotype- To make a Structured Activity Node valid for a Stereotype, set up Activity Group a valid item type.|

Like most other items in a Model, a Reception can be linked to an Activity Partition, Comment, Frame Box, General Node, General Flow, Constraint (applied), General Flow Diagram Flow or Swimlane.
