Structured activity node (dictionary item)

For automation interface purposes, a Structured Activity Region is an Activity Group that has its Group Type set to Structured Activity Region.
A Structured Activity Node represents a structured portion of the Activity that is not shared with any other structured node, except for nesting. Structured Activity Nodes can be nested.
Create a Structured Activity Node through a Modeler explorer pane or an Activity Diagram:
• In a Modeler pane, right-click an Activity or Structured Activity Node, and select > > .
• On an Activity Diagram tab, click the 
Structured Activity Node button, and then click in free space or inside a Structured Activity Node.

On an Activity Diagram, when you create an item in or move an item to a Structured Activity Node, that item is scoped to the Structured Activity Node. If an item is scoped to a Structured Activity Node and you move that item to the diagram background or to another Structured Activity Node, the item is rescope accordingly. In addition, you can scope and unscoped items to and from a Structured Activity Node through the Packages pane.

When used on an Activity Diagram, a Structured Activity Node's notation is as follows.
The View Options on an Activity Diagram allow you to show or hide the Name of the item and the item type, that is, «Structured». The view options are set through the Activity Group entry. Tell me more...
On an Activity Diagram, you can populate a Structured Activity Node's missing content, Activity Flows, Input Pins, Output Pins, Comments and Constraints: right-click the Structured Activity Node, point to Populate, and then click the appropriate command.
In the Dictionary pane, Structured Activity Nodes are listed in the UML\Activity Groups folder.
In the Modeler panes, a short-cut symbol 
on the Structured Activity Node's icon indicates that the item is a stub.

Properties
In addition to the standard properties a Structured Activity Node has these properties:

Owns
Dependency- The Dependency is owned jointly by the Structured Activity Node and the other associated item. The access permissions you have to a Dependency are determined by the access permissions of the dependent item.
Exception Handler- The Exception Handler is owned jointly by the Structured Activity Node and the associated item. The access permissions you have to an Exception Handler are determined by the access permissions you have to its source item.
IO Flow- The IO Flow is owned jointly by the Structured Activity Node, the IO Flow's other linked item and the IO Flow's IO Item.

In addition to the owning Activity or Structured Activity Node, a Structured Activity Node can be linked to the following items.
Stereotype- To make a Structured Activity Node valid for a Stereotype, set up Activity Group a valid item type.|

Like most other items in a Model, a Reception can be linked to an Activity Partition, Comment, Frame Box, General Node, General Flow, Constraint (applied), General Flow Diagram Flow or Swimlane.
