Changing login roles for users and groups (Model Explorer)
You can use Model Explorer to set instance administrator login roles for users and groups.

Consider the following when you change login roles.
1. Only Modeler System Administrators and SQL Server Administrators can alter login roles.
2. User cannot change server role for self.
3. SQL Server Administrators can change the roles of Modeler System Administrators but not for Modeler Database Administrators and Modeler Application Users.
4. Modeler System Administrators can add new Modeler System Administrator but cannot revoke access from them.
Changing a server login role
To change a server login role:
1. Start Model Explorer. For more information, refer to Starting Model Explorer.
2. In the left navigation pane, expand the SQL icon.
3. Right-click on a server that contains the user or group for which you want to modify the roles / access rights and select Logins > Change Login Role....
The Change Login dialog appears.
4. From the Select User or Group name list, select the user or group for which you want to modify the roles / access rights.
After you select the user or group, the dialog is updated with the access rights for the selected user or group.
5. Modify the access rights as appropriate and click Update.
