Changing the role of a principal

Modeler System Administrators, Database Administrators, and Database owners (dbo users) can change the roles of principals for a database.

To change a principal role:
1. Start Model Explorer. For more information, refer to Starting Model Explorer.
2. In the left navigation pane, expand the SQL icon.
3. Expand the server that contains the database where you want to change a principal role.
4. Right-click on the database and select > . The Change Principal Database Role dialog box appears.
5. Select the principal from the Select Principal Name list. The dialog box is updated with the permissions of the selected principal.
6. Modify the access permissions as required and click OK.
7. A confirmation dialog box appears indicating that the changes been made successfully.
