About Entering Math Expressions
Entering math expressions in PTC Mathcad is as easy as writing on a piece of paper. You can type the expressions directly using natural math notation.
You can enter the following types of math expressions into a math or text region:
Algebra
Calculus
Boolean
Matrices and Vectors
Tables
Strings
Additional Information
You can enter a matrix, or table, using its keyboard shortcut, or by inserting it from the Ribbon.
You can enter an operator by typing the operator, by typing the operator’s keyboard shortcut, or by inserting it from the Ribbon.
When you enter numbers greater than 999, do not use a comma or a period to separate digits into groups of three. Simply type the digits one after another. For example, to enter ten thousand, type 10000.
Typing 3x is equivalent to typing 3*x, but typing xy is not equivalent to typing x*y. PTC Mathcad interprets xy as a single variable name.
