Importing PDF Files
To import a PDF file:
1. Choose File > Open > Open file.
2. In the Open dialog box, do the following:
a. In the Files of type list, select PDF Files (*.pdf).
b. Browse to the PDF file location and select it.
c. Click Open. The imported PDF file opens in a new window with its existing file name and an Arbortext IsoDrawidr extension.
There are no PDF import preferences, and no import setting dialog boxes appear after you select the PDF file to import.

Arbortext IsoDraw supports the import of the entities below in PDF files. Entity support is subject to the notes indicated.

Import Limitations - PDF Files
These limitations apply to features imported from PDF files that were exported from Arbortext IsoDraw or Adobe Illustrator.

Text may be broken in to sub-strings.
Vertical text, text kerning, and superscript/subscript text

Fonts
Fonts in the source file that are not found on the target machine are replaced with Arial font in Arbortext IsoDraw.
Self-intersecting fill areas

Not supported
Image decompression types
Uncompressed BMP and JPEG only
Image shearing
Image shearing in the X axis or Y axis only; image shearing in both the X and Y axes is not supported
Tiled patterns
Gradient shaded patterns are not supported.
Variable-width stroked paths
Variable-width stroked paths import as closed, filled contours. The contour outline has zero width and the fill color matches the stroke color in the PDF file.
