Object Symbols and Settings
Objects in the Objects window have symbols that indicate status. You can click some object symbols to change object settings.
Symbol
Description
animation pen symbol
Shows that an animation has been created for the object. Clicking on the animation pen symbol calls up the Edit Animation and Timeline dialog boxes. The object’s animation is selected in the dialog boxes. If the animation pen symbol is grayed out, the animation cannot be selected. It cannot be edited but can still be played back. An animation cannot be selected when the drawing is in 3D mode (see also Edit Animation).
contour set color box symbol
Indicates that the object belongs to a contour set. It also shows the fill color for that contour set.
zoom object symbol
Zooms in on the associated object, which then appears large on the screen. If the object has been selected, the highlighting color will ensure it stands out from its immediate surroundings. This offers an easy means of obtaining an overview of the orientation and extent of the object. Clicking the display tool returns you to the complete drawing.
eye symbol (open)
eye symbol (closed)
Makes the object visible or invisible. Clicking the open eye symbol makes the object invisible on the drawing. The eye closes . This enables you to temporarily hide an object. If an object is visible in 3D mode, it is converted to the 2D window. Invisible objects are not converted. This can be useful if you do not need components for your illustration.
