Changing Program Preferences

The settings and attributes that are to be specified for program preferences are defined by the properties of the drawings to be created – including data import and further use.
When the program is exited, the basic Arbortext IsoDraw program preferences (i.e. those that are not specific to the file) are saved in the Windows user application data folder at User Profiles\username\Application Data\PTC\IsoDraw\Preferences. When you open a new file, these preferences are applied.

Changing the program preferences to suit your needs is particularly useful if you are always going to be working with the same settings. If you are going to be working with different settings in various projects, it is worthwhile creating template files (see Creating a Template File
).
If you want to change the program preferences, close all windows. Select the Edit > Preferences menu.
Multiple Project Preferences Example
You need to work on two projects with different program preferences simultaneously. No special layout elements (drawing frames, etc.) are required.
Set up the preferences for one project and end the session. When the program is closed, the preferences folder is at User Profiles\username\Application Data\PTC\IsoDraw\Preferences Add _1, for example, to the end of the preference filenames.
Start Arbortext IsoDraw again and specify the preferences for the other project. Close the program.
If you want to work with the preferences set for the first project, add _2 to the name of the last preferences files and delete _1 from the name of the first file you created. Now that it has its original filename, Arbortext IsoDraw recognizes the file when the program is next started up and adopts the set preferences.
This method makes it easy to switch between two sets of program preferences.
