Creating a Template File
Advantages and Setup of a Template

A template file contains all the basic settings and attributes that are required for a particular use.
Working with a template file ensures that all drawings are assigned the same design parameters. It also allows the illustrator to concentrate on the drawing itself. All the preparatory steps are already taken care of.
As a result, template files are suitable for two situations in particular:
*
When a wide range of special settings (including drawing frames) are used on a regular basis.
When different basic settings are used for various projects.
As all template files are displayed in the submenu of the New command, you can quickly locate the template you need.
*
A template file is only recognized by the program if it is saved in the Arbortext-IsoDraw-install-path\Program\Templates folder located in the installed program data folder or in the Windows user application data folder at User Profiles\username\Application Data\PTC\IsoDraw\Templates.
The following description deals with the key points that can be specified in a template. It does not discuss the details of how individual settings can be achieved. Detailed descriptions of all the basic settings, attributes, and other features that can be set are contained in the Arbortext IsoDraw User's Reference.
