Selecting Display Mode
When opened, every 3D file is depicted in Rendering display mode. This mode provides the optimum overview, particularly in the case of extensive parts.
As it is often the case that surface elements are not assigned colors in the CAD program, all objects are usually depicted in the same standard color – blue. It is easy to change the color by selecting an object in the object window and assigning a new color using the Fills window. This is especially helpful if objects (parts) are invisible and you are attempting to find the appropriate projection for them. Color highlighting enables you to ascertain whether the parts can be seen easily in the selected view.
If you wish to work with the cutting or transparency tools, it is sometimes useful to switch to HLR or Wireframe mode.
When exporting a colored drawing you should select Smooth rendering display mode, as detailed in the exercise in section Exporting from 3D Mode.
