JT
You must do the following to import JT CAD data into Arbortext IsoDraw:
• Install PTC’s ProductView Adapter for JT (“JT Adapter”) software on your Arbortext IsoDraw machine. (You will need to obtain a separate license for the JT Adapter first.)
• Configure the JT Adapter using the program jt2pv_config.exe found in the ProductView-install-path\bin folder or the Arbortext-IsoDraw-install-path\Program\Adapters\JT\bin folder.
• Edit preference settings in the Arbortext IsoDraw ProductView Adapters preference file pvad_xlte.prf found in the Arbortext-IsoDraw-install-path\Program\Adapters\JT\ folder.
|
Unlike other file types, you do not use > in Arbortext IsoDraw to set preferences for JT files.
|
Prerequisites
• Arbortext IsoDraw CADprocess software. JT files contain 3D CAD data, so they open in 3D mode.
• ProductView Adapter for JT software.
|
The JT Adapter files are not included on the ProductView adapters installation CD. The JT Adapter is purchased separately, and has its own installation CD.

About Arbortext IsoDraw and the JT Adapter
Arbortext IsoDraw CADprocess includes an embedded ProductView client. The JT Adapter converts JT CAD files to a format the embedded ProductView client can render. However, before the JT Adapter can do this conversion, you must configure it to identify the Arbortext IsoDraw host as the ProductView Visualization server. You use jt2pv_config.exe to do this.
After the JT Adapter is configured, whenever you run Arbortext IsoDraw CADprocess, the embedded ProductView client runs in the background. This enables you to import JT files transparently—as if you were using a built-in JT file filter.
