Pasting and Placing via the Browser Window
The Browser Window displays all the folders that have been selected in the Edit > Preferences... > Browser Window menu.
You can use the browser window to paste files, i.e. to import them into an open Arbortext IsoDraw file. Alternatively, you can also place files.
When the browser window is open, structural changes are automatically updated within the selected folders.
Pasting
The difference to importing via the File > Open... > Open file... menu is that when pasting, the file is inserted into an open file.
You can use this advantage. If you are already editing a drawing in 3D mode, you can easily add assemblies or parts from another file using the paste option. For example, if you need a particular assembly from another 3D IGES file for the drawing you are currently working on, drag the file to the working window and select the assembly in the Selection of Structures import dialog box. The selected assembly then appears in the current working window. The assembly’s objects can be edited individually or in conjunction with other objects.
Placing
As with pasting, when placing 3D files, you can also integrate additional parts into the placed file. However, this can only be done when the file is in 3D mode.
