How Save Command Options Affect Import - Adobe Illustrator 9 or Later
The table below describes how save command option settings in Adobe Illustrator 9 or later affect your ability to import these files into Arbortext IsoDraw.

PDF compatibility

This option must be on (default) when you save the Adobe Illustrator 9 or later file. Arbortext IsoDraw can only import Adobe Illustrator 9 and later files that are PDF compatible.
Adobe Illustrator editing capability
On or off
This option can be on or off when you save the Adobe Illustrator 9 or later file. It does not affect the imported Arbortext IsoDraw file.
This option is only available when PDF compatibility is on.
Adobe Illustrator file extension
ai or pdf
Arbortext IsoDraw can import PDF-compatible Adobe Illustrator 9 or later files with either extension.
Use file type Adobe Illustrator Files (*.ai) to import Adobe Illustrator 9 or later files with the ai extension.
Use file type PDF Files (*.pdf) to import Adobe Illustrator 9 or later files with the pdf extension.

Text may be broken in to sub-strings.
Vertical text, text kerning, and superscript/subscript text

Fonts
Fonts in the source file that are not found on the target machine are replaced with Arial font in Arbortext IsoDraw.
Self-intersecting fill areas
Separated color areas
Layer color attribute

Image decompression types
Uncompressed BMP and JPEG only
Image shearing
Image shearing in the X axis or Y axis only; image shearing in both the X and Y axes is not supported
Tiled patterns
Gradient shaded patterns are not supported.
Variable-width stroked paths
Variable-width stroked paths import as closed, filled contours. The contour outline has zero width and the fill color matches the Adobe Illustrator stroke color.
