Configuration Localization Overview
Localization allows Integrity Lifecycle Manager administrators to control the languages available to the users to view locale-specific information about administrative objects. You can set the localization property to control the localized languages when users connect to the server from different client locales. Integrity Lifecycle Manager allows the administrator to enter values in PTC-supported locales, different from the locale used to create the configuration for administrative object attributes (display name and field description). Users can then see the labels in a valid localized language for their Integrity Lifecycle Manager client. Integrity Lifecycle Manager also allows users to view the Integrity Lifecycle Manager client interface in any of the PTC-supported locales.
The PTC-supported locales for a server are any or all of the following locales, as specified in the server property:
English (en)
Japanese (ja)
German (de)
Chinese Traditional (zh_TW)
Chinese Simplified (zh_CN)
Korean (ko)
French (fr)
*
Only Fields, Test Result Fields, Types, and States are supported for localization.
When you access the Integrity Lifecycle Manager administration client using a supported locale, you can add translations to the administrative object attributes (display name and field description) only for that locale.
When you access the Integrity Lifecycle Manager administration client or Integrity Lifecycle Manager client in a locale specified in the localization property, you can view the locale-specific information when the localized values are available. Otherwise, the values are visible in the server locale or are blank, based on the fallback. For more information about fallback, see Fallback for Display Name and Description.
