To Classify Cavity Insert Assembly Components
Cavity insert outlines (fixed half and moving half) are used for cavity layout in a mold base definition. When used in Creo Expert Moldbase Extension, the insert assembly reference model and the workpiece must be classified before they can be included in a mold base definition.
1. Click EMX Manufacturing Mode > Classify. The Classify dialog box opens.
2. Select a component to classify from the Model Tree on the left.
3. For the selected component, select a model type in the Model list in the Model Type column. The following types of models are available:
Model—General model.
WorkpieceCreo Parametric workpiece.
Insert MH—Extracts a moving half. When you select this type of model, the part ID and the part name are automatically added.
Insert FH—Extracts a fixed half. When you select this type of model, the part ID and the part name are automatically added.
Reference Model—Used when performing interference checks. Important for the ejector pin designer.
Insert Assembly—Used when measuring the outline of the included insert MH and insert FH models.
4. Select the Use the selected insert assembly size check box to force a recalculation outline of all insert models in the insert assembly. This is available only if an insert assembly is selected.
5. Select the Rename Extracts check box to rename all insert MH and insert FH components with the specific part name, and to save part ID parameters.
6. Click OK to recalculate the insert assembly outline, rename the insert models, and to save component settings, or click Cancel to close the dialog box without saving changes.
