Before You Begin
Before you install Creo Schematics, make sure that the following prerequisites are met:
• You have opened an online account at PTC.com.
• You have received the Software Confirmation Order e-mail with the product code or the Sales Order Number for your shipment. Alternatively, you must have received your License Pack via e-mail from PTC License Management.
• You have received the product installation media in your software shipment. If not, follow the link on your Software Confirmation Order e-mail to download the installation package to a folder on the local or the network computer.
• You have checked the Hardware Notes for platform support, system requirements, and supported graphics card details at
Creo Hardware Notes.
• If you are an existing user, you must have verified whether a FlexNet Publisher license server is available for updating with new license codes.
• You have read the READ THIS FIRST document for installation prerequisites.
• Java is not installed with the installation of the Creo Schematics application. You can use your existing installation of Java. PTC recommends installing Java 11 or above to run Creo Schematics 8.0.0.0. Install either of the following JRE installations:
◦ Oracle Java JRE
◦ Amazon Corretto JRE

If Java is not found automatically, use the PRO_JAVA_COMMAND environment variable to point to the installed package.

• The latest versions of all Windows software updates, security patches and Microsoft Universal C Runtime in Windows are installed on the local or network computer where you want to install Creo software.
