To Redefine a Welding Symbol
When you redefine a symbol, it affects all instances of that symbol in the model from which you perform the redefine, both existing symbols and those that you create subsequent to the redefine. Redefining does not affect symbol instances in other models.
Before you start, you must first specify your symbol root directory, because you can only save the redefined welding symbols in or below this directory. Later, you can copy the redefined symbols over the old ones in the system symbols libraries.
1. Open the SYM GALLERY menu:
In a model, on the Annotate tab, click the arrow next to Symbol, and then click Symbol Gallery.
In a drawing, on the Annotate tab, click the arrow next to Symbol, and then click Symbol Gallery.
The SYM GALLERY menu appears in the Menu Manager.
2. Click Redefine. The GET SYMBOL menu appears.
3. Select a symbol to redefine using one of the following methods:
Click Name, and then select a symbol definition from a list of those already copied into the model.
Click Pick Inst, and then select a symbol instance in the graphics window or Model Tree.
Click Retrieve, and then browse to select a symbol definition (.sym file) directly from the disk.
The SYMBOL EDIT menu appears.
4. Redefine the symbol.
5. Click Done.
