To Define and Edit Welding Processes
To Define a New Welding Process
1. Click Applications > Welding. The Welding tab opens.
2. Click Process. The Weld Processes dialog box opens.
3. Click New weld process.
4. Type a name for the process in the Weld process name box, and press ENTER.
5. Type or select values for the other process parameters:
Specification number—Company or industry specification number.
Machine type—Select Manual for a manually-performed process or Automatic for an automated welding process.
Treatment—Weld heat treatment.
Feedrate—Welding material feed rate of the machine’s head across the part.
Max. allowed length—Longest welding material length.
Min. allowed length—Shortest welding material length.
Max. root opening—Largest root opening.
Min. root opening—Smallest root opening.
6. Define additional parameters on the Parameters tab as needed.
7. Click OK. The welding process appears in the Model Tree, represented by .
To Edit an Existing Welding Process
1. Open the Weld Processes dialog box using one of the following methods:
In the Model Tree, right-click a welding process and choose Edit Definition from the shortcut menu.
Click Applications > Welding, and on the Welding tab, click Process.
2. Select the process to edit from the list.
3. Edit as required.
4. Click OK.
