Exercise 5 – Assembling Dowel Pins on Points, Axes, or Holes
1. In Creo Parametric set the working directory to <downloaded files location>\IFXTraining\IFX_Asm\Exercise5 and open ifx-exercise-5.asm.
2. Click
View >
Saved Orientations and then click
DOWEL.
3. Click
Tools >
Dowel Pin >
Assemble on reference. The
Select References dialog box opens.
4. Select references as described below:
a. Select axis AA_22 as the Position Reference.
b. Select the mating surface of the cover and housing as the Placement Surface and click OK. The Dowel Pin Fastener Definition dialog box opens
5. In in the diameter box select 8 and in the length box select 22.
6. Click OK to close the Dowel Pin Fastener Definition dialog box after completing the connections. The Pattern Options dialog box opens.
7. Click Assemble fastener on all instances? and then click OK.
8. Hide the housing cover to see the two dowels.
9. Save and close the assembly.
10. Click File > Manage Session > Erase Not Displayed. The Erase Not Displayed dialog box opens.
11. Click OK to erase all files from memory.
