Initial Condition and State
In the Flow Analysis Tree, under Domains, select a fluid domain to see the Initial Condition and State under the Turbulence module in the Properties panel.
Initial Condition
Initial Condition refers to the values of the independent variables required to start a simulation when you select Start from Initial Values in the Run group. For the Turbulence module, you can specify the initial Turb. Kinetic Energy and the Turb. Dissipation rate for each Volume.
The method for specifying the Initial Condition for the Turbulence module is activated for a selected volume under the Turbulence module. Specified Values is the only option currently available for the Initial Condition for the Turbulence module.
Turb. Kinetic Energy—Default initial turbulent kinetic energy is one percent (0.01) of the initial kinetic energy.
Turb. Kinetic Energy Diss. Rate—Default turbulent energy dissipation rate is 1.
State
The State of a volume within the Flow module determines whether Volume and Pressure are solved (Active) or not solved (Blanked) within that volume. The Velocity and Pressure field within a Blanked volume are left as the Initial Condition.

* The Turbulence field within a Blanked volume is left as the Initial Condition.
