Creating and Working with Merge Groups
You can merge several Holemaking steps together, to optimize the tool path. The resulting merge group generates a tool path that machines all the holes included in all the merged steps. When you merge several steps together, the merged group is placed at the position of the first selected step.
You can create merge groups using any of the following methods:
By clicking the Apply AutoMerge check box in the Mfg Template AE extraction dialog box when the manufacturing templates are extracted.
If you click the Apply AutoMerge and the Create same behavior groups checkboxes in the Mfg Template AE extraction dialog box, then the auto merge feature takes precedence over the same behavior group feature. So, the merged steps are not considered while creating same behavior groups.
By selecting one or more steps from the process table and clicking Edit > Merge.
By selecting a step in the process table and clicking Tools > Automatic Merge.
