About 3D and Schematic Illustration Views
You can view a 3D or Schematic illustration published from Creo Illustrate to a PVZ file. Illustration files contain these elements:
• One or more figures
• Service bill of material (sBOM)
Each figure in a PVZ file shows one or more parts and assemblies of one sBOM. Figures can also include annotations such as callouts, sections, and explode lines. 3D library symbols for service items, such as tools and supplies, can also be part of a figure. A figure can be animated or contain a sequence, but not both. You can view in Creo View animations and sequences created in Creo Illustrate.
An illustration may have localized content such as annotations. By default, the text is shown in the language of the user interface. You can switch between languages in an open illustration. For Schematic illustrations, the profiles are also saved to the PVZ file. In Creo View, you can switch between the profiles that are enabled for the illustration.
The sBOM in the PVZ file contains items from the source engineering bill of material (eBOM). The sBOM Tree appears in the primary panel when you load a figure. You can expand or collapse the nodes, select parents or children of a part, or unload one or more parts. The attributes of the sBOM are in the lower data panel. See a list of annotations in the View Content pane of the upper data panel. You cannot create new annotations.
Viewing a Figure
When viewing a figure, you can perform the following tasks:
• Modify the display of a figure and save the result as an annotation set or make it the default view. Section cuts created in Creo Illustrate are view-only in Creo View. For more information, see To Show or Define the Default View of a Figure.
• Spin the figure or translate, rotate, or explode its parts. For more information, see Navigating the MCAD View.
• Select a standard orientation or create a custom orientation. For more information, see About View Orientation of Structures and Figures.
• Change the projection or the background display, and select and move annotations. For more information, see To Change the Projection.
• See localized annotations and switch between languages. For more information, see To View Localized Content in a Figure.
• Change the default language for text in illustrations. See To Set a New Default Text Language for Illustrations.
• Navigate and select items within a schematic figure. For more informations, see About Selecting and Navigating in a Schematic Figure.
Unhiding Parts in Figures
A published figure can contain hidden parts or hidden annotations. When you right-click the graphics area and select Unhide All to display parts and annotations in a published PVZ file, these are the results:
• If a figure does not contain an animation or a sequence, the visibility of the parts and annotations is restored to the settings from Creo Illustrate.
• If the figure contains an animation, the visibility of the parts and annotations is restored according to their state at the beginning of the animation.
• If the figure contains a sequence, the visibility of the parts and annotations is restored according to their state at the end of the current step.
