Enabling Markups in the Native PDF Viewer
Creating and editing markups for PDF documents or drawing viewables in Creo View requires a Windchill PDF Collaboration license. For more information about obtaining the license, see Using the PTC Windchill PDF Collaboration License in the Windchill help center.
The availability of the Windchill PDF Collaboration license is checked each time Creo View is launched from Windchill. A user can work with Creo View with a Windchill PDF Collaboration license for 90 days without having to re-validate the license. When a user works offline or does not open any Creo View data from Windchill for more than the 90-day period, they must validate the license. They are required to open content from Windchill into Creo View to validate the license before they can continue to work with markups for PDF content.
Markup actions are disabled for users who do not have a valid license. They cannot create or save markups or annotation sets.
When a license becomes expired or corrupt, an error message appears and the user should try reopening content from Windchill to revalidate the license.
The license implications mentioned above apply for all Creo View editions.
