To Unlink or Delete Linked Content
In Creo View, you can remove linked data by unlinking or deleting the file. When you unlink a file, the data becomes embedded. Embedded data is not updated when the when the source content changes.
When you delete a file, the file is removed, but you can choose to either retain the data in the sBOM and illustration, or remove it.
To Unlink a File
1. Click > . Structure editing mode opens, and the Content pane appears in the lower data panel.
2. In the
Content pane, select a file and then right-click and select
Unlink.

The file is unlinked.
3. Confirm that the value in the Update policy column of the Content pane is Embedded.
To Delete a File
1. Click > . Structure editing mode opens, and the Content pane appears in the lower data panel.
2. In the
Content pane, select the file to delete and then right-click and select
Delete. The file is selected.

3. Select one of the following options:
◦ Delete source data and clean up sBOM—To remove the CAD data from the illustration.
◦ Delete source data and retain unused 3D sBOM items—To save the CAD data in the illustration.
4. Click OK. The file is deleted.
