Branch links in a CAD structure point to external CAD file locations. The content you import from a CAD file includes any branch links in the file. After import, branch links appear as fully resolved branches under the illustration root structure in the eBOM and sBOM trees.

When you click Link to link the imported content, each branch link in the imported content gets a separate content link. The update policy you choose on import is applied to all imported branch links in the CAD file. After importing, you can use the Edit Structure tool to change the update policy for each branch link separately.

When you click Embed to embed the imported content, any branch links in the imported content are also embedded. After importing, you can use the Edit Structure tool to delete individual embedded branch links.
