If you do not save your annotations, the Apply Alternate Representation to View message appears. • Click Yes to proceed without saving your annotations. You may lose your annotations if the alternate representation changes geometry for a component with associated annotation. |
Area | Description | ||
Annotation | If the annotations are associated with the modified part, you may lose unsaved annotations when you activate alternate representation.
| ||
Attributes | The default representation and the alternate representation have similar attributes, except for the following attributes: • OL File Name • Model Extents
Structure Edit | If you edit and change the component order in the structure, activating the alternate representations may not update the modified component in the graphics. If possible, avoid using the structure edit feature on a file containing alternate representations.
Exporting 3D Views | When you export a 3D view that has one or more active alternate part representations, the alternate representations are exported instead of the default representation.
Interference Detection | You can use alternate representation to conjunction with interference detection and the activated alternate representation is saved with the interference report. When activating alternate representation, the prompt (Not Synchronized) appears next to the Annotation Set name in the graphics area. Recalculate the interference detection to synchronize the alternate representation.
Measurements and markups | You may lose measurements and markups when you activate alternate representation, if they are associated with the modified part.
Design Check | When you activate alternate representation, Design Checks associated with modified parts are suppressed or deactivated in the graphics area, but are not lost. |
