About Interference Detection Results
The results are generated as a list of pairs of entities between which interference is detected. The Results list appears in the Interference Detection pane of the lower data panel, and an image of the two interfering parts of a selected row appears in the Interference View in the graphics area.
Save the interference report as an XML*.pvc annotation set file. The file includes both the interference settings and the calculation results. Each saved annotation set contains the results of only one calculation. After you save a report, you can examine the interferences, add notes and tags, and export the report.
You can add notes and predefined tags to each of the detected interferences in the Results list to monitor Interference Detection results. You can create and export a Summary Report and a Full Report. The Full Report includes the content of the Results list.
You can filter the following results in the Results list and in the Full Report.
Interference Type

Interference Detection results include the following information:
Attribute
Description
Type
Type of interference detected.
Clearance
Contact
Interference
Precision
Mode of interference calculation.
Accurate precision mode displays no symbol in the Precision column.
Approximate precision.
Status
New—The interference was not previously detected.
Exists—The interference was previously detected.
Resolved
ID
Identifies the number of the interference.
Parts identification details
Part name and top level assembly name of the interfering parts.
Volume
Volume of the penetration detected in cubic units.
If the interference volume is not calculated, Unavailable is displayed. This occurs if Approximate mode is set to not calculate interferences and in some cases of Accurate mode.
Min. Distance
Minimum required clearance distance between two parts.
Severity
An integer number from 1 to N that indicates the relative severity of the interferences, from the highest severity (1), to the lowest, as follows:
A severity of 1 indicates the interference with the biggest volume.
As the volumes of the interferences decrease, the values of the integers increase to the Interference with the smallest volume that has a value of K.
Interferences with no calculated volume have a value of K+1.
Unavailable is displayed in the Volume column.
All cases of Contact have a value of K+2.
The Volume column is empty.
The Clearance with the smallest minimum distance has a value of K+3, the next K+4, and so on, up to the Clearance with the largest minimum distance.
*
Any number of interferences can have the same Severity value. This occurs if the interference volumes are identical or if they are not calculated.
If the interference volumes are not calculated, Unavailable is displayed in the Volume column. This occurs if Approximate mode is set to not calculate volumes and in some cases of Accurate mode.
Interferences calculated before Creo View 4.1 maintain old severity values, but Unavailable is displayed instead of N/A.
Common Parent Level
The depth in the structure tree of the closest common parent of the two interfering parts.
Note and Tag
User-added.
Iteration details
Such as detection date, user who detected interference, duration.
