About Profiles
Profiles are defined within a standard and control the appearance of items, formats, and annotations in a 3D figure and schematic illustration. Profiles can also control the visibility of user-added content such as attributes and annotations at the item type level or to all items.

Profiles are defined in an .xml file and can be imported into a standard using the Creo Illustrate Administration Tool
The profile that is applied to a figure is displayed in the figure title bar.
To Change Profiles in a Figure
In an open figure, click Home > Profiles and then select a profile from the list. The profile is applied to the figure.
For 3D Figures
Standards can have multiple profiles defined within them. Use these profiles to affect how the elements in the figure are displayed.
Toggle the Profiles button to apply a profile.
The profile is applied to the figure. The applied profile will also be used when you perform the following actions:
Duplicate a figure
Create a 2D figure from a 3D figure
Publish a figure
If a figure has multiple profiles, toggle the Profiles button, and then select a profile from the profiles list. Use the profiles list to select and manage profiles.
You can override the following profile elements for a 3D figure:
Background color
Gradient
Use the Parts tab to modify the appearance of one or more parts in a figure:
Phantom
Transparency
Color

For Schematic Figures
For Schematic figures, you can edit the following display components for a profile:
Format
Fit Content—Click to fit the figure content into the grid.
Show Grid—Toggle the grid display.
You can also override the following profile elements for a Schematic figure:
Background Color
Connection Style
