About Creo Illustrate
Creo Illustrate enables you reuse CAD data to generate interactive, animated 3D technical illustrations that communicate complex service information easily and accurately. The 3D illustrations you create can be saved and published in a variety of 2D and 3D graphic formats.
With Creo Illustrate, you can do the following:
Import a 3D CAD file that contains engineering part geometry and bill of material (BOM) data.
Drag parts from the imported engineering BOM (eBOM) into the service BOM (sBOM).
Rearrange, combine, and rename parts and assemblies in the sBOM tree.
Load selected sBOM parts and assemblies into multiple figures in an illustration file. The figures can have different:
3D view orientations and zoom levels.
Render modes with various surface shading styles, thick/thin edge lines, and hidden lines removed (HLR).
Section views, construction geometry, and measurements.
Exploded views with optional explode lines.
Annotations, such as callouts, notes, and references.
2D and 3D graphic symbols inserted from a library of tools, containers, arrows, and hazard signs.
Generate callouts and an item list for each figure in an illustration and then optionally arrange, renumber, and combine callouts.
Import an XML file containing new part attribute, structure, figure, and item list information, and then automatically regenerate the sBOM tree with the new figures and item lists from the file.
Animate figures in an illustration starting with an animation template.
Publish illustrations for distribution in secure Creo View visualization (*.pvz) file format.
Use Windchill software to manage illustration assets through a direct link to the Windchill server.
The 3D illustrations you create in Creo Illustrate can be set to update automatically when the source CAD changes—and they are easy to share across the enterprise.
