To Change Annotation Appearance Settings

Callout instances edited in the Figure will no longer be associated with the Callout Template.
1. In the figure window or the upper data panel Figure Content pane, perform the actions below:
a. Select one or more annotations to change.
b. Right-click selected annotations and click Edit Properties. The Annotation: Edit dialog box opens.
Alternatively, the annotations can be edited in the Annotations ribbon which displays when one or more annotations are selected.
2. Edit the appearance setting for the Leader.
Leader—Select a head for the leader line from the list.
Pen—Select a pen from the list.
Weight—Set the leader line weight in physical units.

The maximum displayed width of any line is 10 pixels.
Style—Select a line style from the list.
Color— Opens the Choose Color dialog box from which you can select the color for the leader line.
3. Edit appearance settings for the Label.
Font Size—Select or type a font size (from 8–24).
Font Color—Select the font from the Choose Color dialog box.
Shape—Click the Shape box and select a shape.
Fill Color—Select the fill color of the leader line.
Border—Select to display the border of the label shape.

If you select Shape > No Shape, the Border option is not available.
4. Under Content, customize the content of the callout. You can include item numbers, insert quantities and insert attributes to the content of a callout.
To enter a value as the callout is created, select Edit on creation.
To create a callout with label content that can be edited after it is placed in the figure, select Editable content.
Click Insert Item number to insert a placeholder in the content box for the item number which gets added when the callout is created.
Click Insert Quantity to insert a placeholder in the content box for the quantity of the item which gets added when the callout is created.
Click Insert Attribute to open the Insert Attribute dialog box, where you can choose one or more attributes to be inserted into the content box for the callout.
5. Under Halo, select the check box to add a halo effect to a label or leader line.

Halos cannot be applied to labels that have no shape or border.
6. To add a halo to the label or leader line, select the Label or Leader check box. Edit the appearance settings of the halo:
Weight—Type or select a line weight from (0.5 to 10.00) x Line weight.
Color—Select the font from the Choose Color dialog box.
Opacity—Set the percentage of opacity from 0–100.
7. To edit the arrangement of annotation text, select the following from the Annotations ribbon.
8. Toggle Draw When Hidden to show or hide the leader lines as solid, even when they are partly obscured.
