About Tagged Symbols in Sequences
Items in the Symbol Library can have tags. You can insert tagged library items in sequence steps to add extra graphical and text information.
There are different types of tags. Some add resource information to the step; others add predefined messages the user must be aware of for the step, such as safety or quality guidelines.
For example, a library item such as the 3D symbol for an oil can might have a “consumable” tag with the description, “Apply oil to all lubrication points.” When you insert the tagged oil can symbol in the figure for a step, the “consumable” icon and description text appear in the Step Editor.
The Symbol Library template XML file, PartSymbolLibrary.xml, contains all Symbol Library items and their tags. You can modify symbol tags by editing this XML file with a text editor.
