Annotation Types for Figures
To add symbols and stamps to a figure, select one from the Symbols, and Stamps galleries. Click Home > Annotations or Item List > Annotations, and select an annotation style from the list of images:
In a figure, create these types of annotations:

Callout
A Callout annotation is an automatically generated label with leader lines. The leader lines attach to items in the figure. For more information, see About Callout Annotations

Note and Note with Leader
Note and Note with Leader annotations are editable text labels you can place anywhere in the figure.
Note with Leader annotations are text labels with leader lines. The leader lines attach to items in the figure.
Notes move when you change the figure orientation and they always face front.
Notes are not linked to items in the items list, nor do they create items in the item list when you insert them in the figure.
Notes can point to symbols.

Reference Note with Leader
Fixed, unchangeable text in a Note with Leader annotation label marks reference data. This can be either a reference letter, A or B, or the ITEM TAG attribute for the indicated item.
Note with Leader annotations move with items they point to. Their labels always face front.
