To Create a Wiring Interconnect Diagram (WID)
1. Create the wiring interconnect diagram connectors and cables.
2. Create and open a wiring diagram.
3. Click Data > Format Report. The Format report dialog box opens.
4. In the General tab, set the following options:
a. Report Type: Properties.
b. Search Source: Criteria.
c. Diagram Type: select Block from the list.
d. Partition: Design.
e. Class: Block and Group.
5. In the Column tab, complete the following steps:
a. Click Add <Label> Column.
b. Type Has_Shapes in the Column Heading box.
c. Click [fn(x)]. The Select a function dialog box opens.
d. Select the Display group shapes Java function and click OK. The Select a function dialog box closes and the function appears in the Parameter Format box.
e. Click Add Parameter Column. The Parameter Selector dialog box opens.
f. Select and apply the name and num_of_pins parameters. Select the sheets parameter and click OK. The Parameter Selector dialog box closes and the parameters appear in the Property column of the Format report dialog box.
6. In the Sort tab, complete the following steps:
a. Click Add [fn(x)].
b. Click [fn(x)]. The Select a function dialog box opens.
c. Select the Display group shapes Java function and click OK. The Select a function dialog box closes and the function appears in the Parameter Format box of the Format report dialog box.
d. Click Add Parameter. The Parameter Selector dialog box opens.
e. Select sheets and click Apply. Select the name parameter and click OK. The Parameter Selector dialog box closes and the parameters appear in the Parameter column.
f. Set the sort order of each parameter to Ascending or Descending.
7. In the Criteria tab, complete the following steps:
a. Click Add Parameter Column. The Parameter Selector dialog box opens.
b. Select sheets in the Parameter Selector list and click OK. The Parameter Selector dialog box closes and the sheets parameter appears in the Parameter column.
c. Select On from the Operator box. On appears in the Operator column.
d. Select the required BID sheet in the Value box. The name of the sheet appears in the Value column.
8. Click to generate the report. The Report Results dialog box opens.
9. To place a block or group, select the corresponding shape in the Report Results list and click , or right-click and choose Place Shape. The Select Shape dialog box opens.
10. Make sure that Wiring is selected in the upper-right type list. Select the shape to instance from the Select shape to instance list and click OK. The Select Shape dialog box closes and the shape is attached to the pointer. If the num_of_pins parameter has been defined, the matching number of pins is created.
11. Position the pointer in the WID and click to place it. Repeat steps 8 and 9 as required.
12. Click in the Report Results dialog box. The value of the hasShapes() parameter becomes Block and Wiring.
13. Click in the Report Results dialog box. The Format report dialog box opens.
14. Click the Column tab and complete the following steps:
a. Click Add <Label> Column.
b. Type Connected Harness in the Column Heading box.
c. Click [fn(x)]. The Select a function dialog box opens.
d. Select the Retrieve value of property “Harness” from connected fiber Java function and click OK. The Select a function dialog box closes and the function appears in the Parameter Format box.
e. Delete the Has Shapes entry.
15. Click . The Report Results dialog box opens and displays the name of the harness that is connected to each connector. Use this name for the name of the cable that connects the respective connectors in the detailed WID.
16. Click Close. The Report Results dialog box closes.
