About Managing Datatables Using the Datatable Explorer
Use the Datatable Explorer to manage the datatables in a design. Click > to open the Datatable Explorer dialog box. A list of folders, files, datatables, or membermaps opens in the left pane. A list of datatables available in the selected folder or the datatable selected displays in the right pane.
Choose a Filter from the list to control datatable display from the Central Catalog, the Internal Catalog, or both catalogs:
• Show All—Displays all datatables in the Central Catalog and Internal Catalog.
• Internal and Used External—Displays datatables present in the Internal Catalog and items used from the Central Catalog.
• Internal only—Displays only Internal Catalog datatables.
• External only—Displays only Central Catalog datatables.
Folder and datatable catalog item status is shown by the following indicators:
• —Preferred items. These are items found in the Central Catalog and currently used in the design or Internal Catalog items.
• —Approved items. These are items found in the Central Catalog and not used in the design.
• —Pending items. These are found in the Internal Catalog and have been submitted to the Temporary Submission Directory.
• —New items. These are found only in the Internal Catalog.
To perform actions on the selected folder or file, right-click and choose a command from the shortcut menu or use one of the following buttons:
• —Navigates up one level. This button is available for all nodes except the root node.
• —Creates a new folder below the selected folder. This button is available only when a folder is selected.
• —Loads a datatable or membermap. This button is available only when a folder is selected.
• —Reloads the selected table from the original file. This button is available only when a datatable or membermap is selected. Click to open the
Reload object dialog box, then select the file to reload and click
OK. Only the file displayed is reloaded. To reload multilevel files, click the
Load all dependencies check box to load the file with all its dependencies.
| Problems can occur when you load a datatable or membermap to multiple designs with a common catalog. This should only be done with permission from the catalog administrator and only in one design. |
• —Saves the selected table to a CSV file. This button is available only when a datatable, membermap or portmap is selected.
• —Deletes the selected table. This button is available only when a datatable or membermap is selected, and the selected table does not have any references.
• —Edits the parameters of the selected folder.
• Submit—Submits the selected item to the Temporary Submission Directory. This option is available only from the shortcut menu.
